Al-Insan In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful Has there not been over man a period of time, when he was not a thing worth mentioning? (1) Verily, We have created man from Nutfah (drops) of mixed semen (sexual discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer and seer. (2) Verily, We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. (3) Verily, We have prepared for the disbelievers iron chains, iron collars, and a blazing Fire. (4) Verily, the Abrâr (the pious and righteous) shall drink of a cup (of wine) mixed with (water from a spring in Paradise called) Kâfûr. (5) A spring wherefrom the slaves of Allâh will drink, causing it to gush forth abundantly. (6) They (are those who) fulfill (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil will be wide-spreading. Al-Balad In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful I swear by this city (Makkah); (1) And you are free (from sin and to punish the enemies of Islâm on the Day of the conquest) in this city (Makkah)[] , (2) And by the begetter (i.e. Adam A.S.) and that which he begot (i.e. his progeny); (3) Verily, We have created man in toil. (4) Does he think that none can overcome him? (5) He says (boastfully): “I have wasted wealth in abundance!” (6) Does he think that none sees him? (7) Have We not made for him a pair of eyes? (8) And a tongue and a pair of lips? (9) And shown him the two ways (good and evil)? Al-Asr In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful By (the Token of) time (through the Ages), (1) Verily Man is in loss, (2) Except such as have Faith, and do righteous deeds, and (join together) in the mutual teaching of Truth, and of Patience and Constancy.
