Adh-Dhāriyāt (the Scattering winds) الذَّارِيَات

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

1. By the winds that blow and scatter,2. And by the clouds that carry a heavy load (of water),3. And by the vessels that float with elegance,4. And by the angels that distribute work,5. Surely the promise (of the Hereafter) being made to you is absolutely true.6. And surely the reward and the punishment (of actions) are bound to take place.7. And by the heaven with its galaxies and orbits (of stars and planets),8. Certainly you are (caught) in inconsistent statements.9. He alone turns away (from the Holy Messenger and the Qur’an) who is turned away (from the knowledge of pre-eternity).10. Ruined are those who tell lies out of assumption and conjecture,11. Those who are oblivious (of the Hereafter) due to negligence and ignorance.12. They ask: ‘When is the Day of Requital?’13. (Say:) ‘The Day (when) they will be roasted in the Fire of Hell.’14. (It will be said to them:) ‘Relish your punishment. It is this punishment which you seek to hasten.’15. Surely the pious will be (rejoicing) in gardens and springs,16. Receiving those blessings (in ecstatic delight) which their Lord will be giving them (with munificence and benevolence). Surely it is they who were people of spiritual excellence (in their life) before this.17. They used to sleep at night only for a short while,18. And used to (get up and) seek forgiveness in the later part of the night.19. And in their wealth was appointed a due share for the beggars and the destitute (i.e. all the needy).20. And there are many Signs in the earth for the people with the truth of certitude (i.e. people of perfect certitude), 21. And in your selves (as well). So do you not notice?22. And (also) there is sustenance for you in the heaven and (all that too) which you are promised. 23. So, by the King of heavens and the earth, this (promise of Ours) is true just as is your speech. (You firmly believe in what you utter.)24. Has the news come to you of the venerable guests of Ibrahim (Abraham)?25. When those (angels) came to him they wished him peace; Ibrahim (Abraham) also said (in reply): ‘Peace (be upon you)!’ (and thought in his mind that) they were strangers. 26. Then he went to his home in haste and brought a healthy roasted calf.27. Then he presented it to them and said: ‘Will you not eat?’28. Then he felt somewhat concerned about them (when they did not eat). They (angels) said: ‘Do not worry,’ then they gave him the news about a son possessing knowledge and wisdom (Ishaq [Isaac]).29. Then his wife (Sara) came with a voice laden with wonder and frustration, patted her forehead in astonishment and said: ‘(Will) an old and barren woman (give birth to a child)?’ 30. The (angels) said: ‘It will happen exactly as your Lord has said; surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.’31. Ibrahim (Abraham) said: ‘O deputed angels, what is your basic intent (of coming, apart from this good news)?’32. They said: ‘We have been sent to the evildoing people (the people of Lut [Lot]),33. So that we may rain on them stones of baked clay,34. (The stones) that have been marked from your Lord for those who transgress.’35. Then We moved everyone who was of the believers in it out (from the town of the People of Lut [Lot]).36. So We did not find in that town (any house) of the Muslims except one (in which were the Prophet Lut [Lot] and his two daughters).37. And We made in that (town) a Sign to subsist (as a lesson of warning) for those who fear the grievous torment.38. And (there are Signs) in (the incident of) Musa (Moses) as well when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear proof.39. He turned away along with his cabinet members and said: ‘(Here is) a magician or a madman.’40. Then We seized him and his army (with torment), and drowned them (all) in the river. And he was but the perpetrator of condemnable works.41. And there is (a Sign) in (the destruction of) the people of ‘Ad too, when We sent upon them a wind devoid of any good and blessing.42. Whatever it passed over, it did not leave without turning it to dust.43. And also there is (a Sign of warning) in the (destruction of) the people of Thamud when they were told: ‘Take benefit for an appointed term.’44. But they disobeyed the Command of their Lord. So a horrifying thunder seized them, and they could only stare it stunned. 45. Then they could neither gather strength to stand, nor could they take revenge (on Us).46. And (We also destroyed) the People of Nuh (Noah) before this. Surely they were a people extremely disobedient.47. And We built the heavenly universe with great might. And surely We are expanding (this universe) more and more.48. And We alone made (the surface of the) earth a (livable) floor. So how graciously We make up and spread out!49. And of everything We have created two pairs so that you might concentrate and understand.50. So run towards Allah. Surely I am a clear Warner to you from Him.51. And do not set up any god apart from Allah. Surely I am a clear Warner to you from Him.52. Likewise no Messenger came to those before them but they said the same: ‘(This is) a magician or a madman.’53. Were they transmitting this advice to one another? In truth they were (all) a disobedient and rebellious people. 54. So turn away your kind and caring looks from them. There is no blame on you (for their disbelief).55. And keep giving direction and guidance, for direction and guidance surely benefits the believers. 56. And I created the jinn and human beings solely to adopt My servitude.57. I do not ask for any sustenance (i.e. earning) from them, nor do I require that they should feed Me.58. Truly Allah alone is the Sustainer of everyone, the Lord of Great Might, the Most Strong. (He does not need anyone’s help and assistance.)59. So there is a fixed share of the torment for these wrongdoers (too) like the share of the torment of their companions (who have passed before). So let them not ask Me to hasten (it).60. So a terrible destruction awaits the disbelievers on that Day of theirs which they have been promised.

بکھیرنے والیوں کی قسم جو اُڑا کر بکھیر دیتی ہیں (۱) پھر (پانی کا) بوجھ اٹھاتی ہیں (۲) پھر آہستہ آہستہ چلتی ہیں (۳) پھر چیزیں تقسیم کرتی ہیں (۴) کہ جس چیز کا تم سے وعدہ کیا جاتا ہے وہ سچا ہے (۵) اور انصاف (کا دن) ضرور واقع ہوگا (۶) اور آسمان کی قسم جس میں رسے ہیں (۷) کہ (اے اہل مکہ) تم ایک متناقض بات میں (پڑے ہوئے) ہو (۸) اس سے وہی پھرتا ہے جو (خدا کی طرف سے) پھیرا جائے (۹) اٹکل دوڑانے والے ہلاک ہوں (۱۰) جو بےخبری میں بھولے ہوئے ہیں (۱۱) پوچھتے ہیں کہ جزا کا دن کب ہوگا؟ (۱۲) اُس دن (ہوگا) جب ان کو آگ میں عذاب دیا جائے گا (۱۳) اب اپنی شرارت کا مزہ چکھو۔ یہ وہی ہے جس کے لئے تم جلدی مچایا کرتے تھے (۱۴) بےشک پرہیزگار بہشتوں اور چشموں میں (عیش کر رہے) ہوں گے (۱۵) اور) جو جو (نعمتیں) ان کا پروردگار انہیں دیتا ہوگا ان کو لے رہے ہوں گے۔ بےشک وہ اس سے پہلے نیکیاں کرتے تھے (۱۶) رات کے تھوڑے سے حصے میں سوتے تھے (۱۷) اور اوقات سحر میں بخشش مانگا کرتے تھے (۱۸) اور ان کے مال میں مانگنے والے اور نہ مانگنے والے (دونوں) کا حق ہوتا تھا (۱۹) اور یقین کرنے والوں کے لئے زمین میں (بہت سی) نشانیاں ہیں (۲۰) اور خود تمہارے نفوس میں تو کیا تم دیکھتے نہیں؟ (۲۱) اور تمہارا رزق اور جس چیز کا تم سے وعدہ کیا جاتا ہے آسمان میں ہے (۲۲) تو آسمانوں اور زمین کے مالک کی قسم! یہ (اسی طرح) قابل یقین ہے جس طرح تم بات کرتے ہو (۲۳) بھلا تمہارے پاس ابراہیمؑ کے معزز مہمانوں کی خبر پہنچی ہے؟ (۲۴) جب وہ ان کے پاس آئے تو سلام کہا۔ انہوں نے بھی (جواب میں) سلام کہا (دیکھا تو) ایسے لوگ کہ نہ جان نہ پہچان (۲۵) تو اپنے گھر جا کر ایک (بھنا ہوا) موٹا بچھڑا لائے (۲۶) (اور کھانے کے لئے) ان کے آگے رکھ دیا۔ کہنے لگے کہ آپ تناول کیوں نہیں کرتے؟ (۲۷) اور دل میں ان سے خوف معلوم کیا۔ (انہوں نے) کہا کہ خوف نہ کیجیئے۔ اور ان کو ایک دانشمند لڑکے کی بشارت بھی سنائی (۲۸) تو ابراہیمؑ کی بیوی چلاّتی آئی اور اپنا منہ پیٹ کر کہنے لگی کہ (اے ہے ایک تو) بڑھیا اور (دوسرے) بانجھ (۲۹) (انہوں نے) کہا (ہاں) تمہارے پروردگار نے یوں ہی فرمایا ہے۔ وہ بےشک صاحبِ حکمت (اور) خبردار ہے (۳۰) ابراہیمؑ نے کہا کہ فرشتو! تمہارا مدعا کیا ہے؟ (۳۱) انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم گنہگار لوگوں کی طرف بھیجے گئے ہیں (۳۲) تاکہ ان پر کھنگر برسائیں (۳۳) جن پر حد سے بڑھ جانے والوں کے لئے تمہارے پروردگار کے ہاں سے نشان کردیئے گئے ہیں (۳۴) تو وہاں جتنے مومن تھے ان کو ہم نے نکال لیا (۳۵) اور اس میں ایک گھر کے سوا مسلمانوں کا کوئی گھر نہ پایا (۳۶) اور جو لوگ عذاب الیم سے ڈرتے ہیں ان کے لئے وہاں نشانی چھوڑ دی (۳۷) اور موسیٰ (کے حال) میں (بھی نشانی ہے) جب ہم نے ان کو فرعون کی طرف کھلا ہوا معجزہ دے کر بھیجا (۳۸) تو اس نے اپنی جماعت (کے گھمنڈ) پر منہ موڑ لیا اور کہنے لگا یہ تو جادوگر ہے یا دیوانہ (۳۹) تو ہم نے اس کو اور اس کے لشکروں کو پکڑ لیا اور ان کو دریا میں پھینک دیا اور وہ کام ہی قابل ملامت کرتا تھا (۴۰) اور عاد (کی قوم کے حال) میں بھی (نشانی ہے) جب ہم نے ان پر نامبارک ہوا چلائی (۴۱) وہ جس چیز پر چلتی اس کو ریزہ ریزہ کئے بغیر نہ چھوڑتی (۴۲) اور (قوم) ثمود (کے حال) میں (نشانی ہے) جب ان سے کہا گیا کہ ایک وقت تک فائدہ اٹھالو (۴۳) تو انہوں نے اپنے پروردگار کے حکم سے سرکشی کی۔ سو ان کو کڑک نے آ پکڑا اور وہ دیکھ رہے تھے (۴۴) پھر وہ نہ تو اُٹھنے کی طاقت رکھتے تھے اور نہ مقابلہ ہی کرسکتے تھے (۴۵) اور اس سے پہلے (ہم) نوح کی قوم کو (ہلاک کرچکے تھے) بےشک وہ نافرمان لوگ تھے (۴۶) اور آسمانوں کو ہم ہی نے ہاتھوں سے بنایا اور ہم کو سب مقدور ہے (۴۷) اور زمین کو ہم ہی نے بچھایا تو (دیکھو) ہم کیا خوب بچھانے والے ہیں (۴۸) اور ہر چیز کی ہم نے دو قسمیں بنائیں تاکہ تم نصیحت پکڑو (۴۹) تو تم لوگ خدا کی طرف بھاگ چلو میں اس کی طرف سے تم کو صریح رستہ بتانے والا ہوں (۵۰) اور خدا کے ساتھ کسی اَور کو معبود نہ بناؤ۔ میں اس کی طرف سے تم کو صریح رستہ بتانے والا ہوں (۵۱) اسی طرح ان سے پہلے لوگوں کے پاس جو پیغمبر آتا وہ اس کو جادوگر یا دیوانہ کہتے (۵۲) کیا یہ کہ ایک دوسرے کو اسی بات کی وصیت کرتے آئے ہیں بلکہ یہ شریر لوگ ہیں (۵۳) تو ان سے اعراض کرو۔ تم کو (ہماری) طرف سے ملامت نہ ہوگی (۵۴) اور نصیحت کرتے رہو کہ نصیحت مومنوں کو نفع دیتی ہے (۵۵) اور میں نے جنوں اور انسانوں کو اس لئے پیدا کیا ہے کہ میری عبادت کریں (۵۶) میں ان سے طالب رزق نہیں اور نہ یہ چاہتا ہوں کہ مجھے (کھانا) کھلائیں (۵۷) خدا ہی تو رزق دینے والا زور آور اور مضبوط ہے (۵۸) کچھ شک نہیں کہ ان ظالموں کے لئے بھی (عذاب کی) نوبت مقرر ہے جس طرح ان کے ساتھیوں کی نوبت تھی تو ان کو مجھ سے (عذاب) جلدی نہیں طلب کرنا چاہیئے (۵۹) جس دن کا ان کافروں سے وعدہ کیا جاتا ہے اس سے ان کے لئے خرابی ہے (۶۰)

وَٱلذَّٲرِيَـٰتِ ذَرۡوً۬ا (١) فَٱلۡحَـٰمِلَـٰتِ وِقۡرً۬ا (٢) فَٱلۡجَـٰرِيَـٰتِ يُسۡرً۬ا (٣) فَٱلۡمُقَسِّمَـٰتِ أَمۡرًا (٤) إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌ۬ (٥) وَإِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ لَوَٲقِعٌ۬ (٦) وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡحُبُكِ (٧) إِنَّكُمۡ لَفِى قَوۡلٍ۬ مُّخۡتَلِفٍ۬ (٨) يُؤۡفَكُ عَنۡهُ مَنۡ أُفِكَ (٩) قُتِلَ ٱلۡخَرَّٲصُونَ (١٠) ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ فِى غَمۡرَةٍ۬ سَاهُونَ (١١) يَسۡـَٔلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ (١٢) يَوۡمَ هُمۡ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ يُفۡتَنُونَ (١٣) ذُوقُواْ فِتۡنَتَكُمۡ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَ (١٤) إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ۬ وَعُيُونٍ (١٥) ءَاخِذِينَ مَآ ءَاتَٮٰهُمۡ رَبُّہُمۡ‌ۚ إِنَّہُمۡ كَانُواْ قَبۡلَ ذَٲلِكَ مُحۡسِنِينَ (١٦) كَانُواْ قَلِيلاً۬ مِّنَ ٱلَّيۡلِ مَا يَہۡجَعُونَ (١٧) وَبِٱلۡأَسۡحَارِ هُمۡ يَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ (١٨) وَفِىٓ أَمۡوَٲلِهِمۡ حَقٌّ۬ لِّلسَّآٮِٕلِ وَٱلۡمَحۡرُومِ (١٩) وَفِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ءَايَـٰتٌ۬ لِّلۡمُوقِنِينَ (٢٠) وَفِىٓ أَنفُسِكُمۡ‌ۚ أَفَلَا تُبۡصِرُونَ (٢١) وَفِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزۡقُكُمۡ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ (٢٢) فَوَرَبِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ إِنَّهُ ۥ لَحَقٌّ۬ مِّثۡلَ مَآ أَنَّكُمۡ تَنطِقُونَ (٢٣) هَلۡ أَتَٮٰكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيۡفِ إِبۡرَٲهِيمَ ٱلۡمُكۡرَمِينَ (٢٤) إِذۡ دَخَلُواْ عَلَيۡهِ فَقَالُواْ سَلَـٰمً۬ا‌ۖ قَالَ سَلَـٰمٌ۬ قَوۡمٌ۬ مُّنكَرُونَ (٢٥) فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ فَجَآءَ بِعِجۡلٍ۬ سَمِينٍ۬ (٢٦) فَقَرَّبَهُ ۥۤ إِلَيۡہِمۡ قَالَ أَلَا تَأۡكُلُونَ (٢٧) فَأَوۡجَسَ مِنۡہُمۡ خِيفَةً۬‌ۖ قَالُواْ لَا تَخَفۡ‌ۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِيمٍ۬ (٢٨) فَأَقۡبَلَتِ ٱمۡرَأَتُهُ ۥ فِى صَرَّةٍ۬ فَصَكَّتۡ وَجۡهَهَا وَقَالَتۡ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٌ۬ (٢٩) قَالُواْ كَذَٲلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ‌ۖ إِنَّهُ ۥ هُوَ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ (٣٠) ۞ قَالَ فَمَا خَطۡبُكُمۡ أَيُّہَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ (٣١) قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّآ أُرۡسِلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمٍ۬ مُّجۡرِمِينَ (٣٢) لِنُرۡسِلَ عَلَيۡہِمۡ حِجَارَةً۬ مِّن طِينٍ۬ (٣٣) مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ (٣٤) فَأَخۡرَجۡنَا مَن كَانَ فِيہَا مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ (٣٥) فَمَا وَجَدۡنَا فِيہَا غَيۡرَ بَيۡتٍ۬ مِّنَ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ (٣٦) وَتَرَكۡنَا فِيہَآ ءَايَةً۬ لِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَلِيمَ (٣٧) وَفِى مُوسَىٰٓ إِذۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ بِسُلۡطَـٰنٍ۬ مُّبِينٍ۬ (٣٨) فَتَوَلَّىٰ بِرُكۡنِهِۦ وَقَالَ سَـٰحِرٌ أَوۡ مَجۡنُونٌ۬ (٣٩) فَأَخَذۡنَـٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُ ۥ فَنَبَذۡنَـٰهُمۡ فِى ٱلۡيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ۬ (٤٠) وَفِى عَادٍ إِذۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡہِمُ ٱلرِّيحَ ٱلۡعَقِيمَ (٤١) مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَىۡءٍ أَتَتۡ عَلَيۡهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتۡهُ كَٱلرَّمِيمِ (٤٢) وَفِى ثَمُودَ إِذۡ قِيلَ لَهُمۡ تَمَتَّعُواْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ۬ (٤٣) فَعَتَوۡاْ عَنۡ أَمۡرِ رَبِّہِمۡ فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُ وَهُمۡ يَنظُرُونَ (٤٤) فَمَا ٱسۡتَطَـٰعُواْ مِن قِيَامٍ۬ وَمَا كَانُواْ مُنتَصِرِينَ (٤٥) وَقَوۡمَ نُوحٍ۬ مِّن قَبۡلُ‌ۖ إِنَّہُمۡ كَانُواْ قَوۡمً۬ا فَـٰسِقِينَ (٤٦) وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بَنَيۡنَـٰهَا بِأَيۡيْدٍ۬ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ (٤٧) وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ فَرَشۡنَـٰهَا فَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡمَـٰهِدُونَ (٤٨) وَمِن ڪُلِّ شَىۡءٍ خَلَقۡنَا زَوۡجَيۡنِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَذَكَّرُونَ (٤٩) فَفِرُّوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنۡهُ نَذِيرٌ۬ مُّبِينٌ۬ (٥٠) وَلَا تَجۡعَلُواْ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ‌ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنۡهُ نَذِيرٌ۬ مُّبِينٌ۬ (٥١) كَذَٲلِكَ مَآ أَتَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُواْ سَاحِرٌ أَوۡ مَجۡنُونٌ (٥٢) أَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِهِۦ‌ۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ قَوۡمٌ۬ طَاغُونَ (٥٣) فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡہُمۡ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِمَلُومٍ۬ (٥٤) وَذَكِّرۡ فَإِنَّ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ تَنفَعُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ (٥٥) وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُونِ (٥٦) مَآ أُرِيدُ مِنۡہُم مِّن رِّزۡقٍ۬ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن يُطۡعِمُونِ (٥٧) إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلۡقُوَّةِ ٱلۡمَتِينُ (٥٨) فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ ذَنُوبً۬ا مِّثۡلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصۡحَـٰبِہِمۡ فَلَا يَسۡتَعۡجِلُونِ (٥٩) فَوَيۡلٌ۬ لِّلَّذِينَ ڪَفَرُواْ مِن يَوۡمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ (٦٠)
